"Paving paradise" is what we do when we yield to all the distractions, amusements, and indulgences that numb our Effect Sensors so we can't feel real Peace and real Energy anymore. These pseudo forms of Peace and Energy disconnect us and blind us to our real Desires. The most likely reason we start depending on them in the first place is because we feel so much sorrow about not obtaining our Desires, not knowing how to obtain them, and not believing it's possible to obtain them.
