This song is used as a metaphor in my blog post "So Say Geronimo!"
A collection of musical selections that echo conflict resolution and desire obtainment through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Amy Grant - Big Yellow Taxi
This song is a metaphor about Effects. "Paradise" is the real Effect. "Paving paradise" is what we do when we yield to all the distractions, amusements, and indulgences that numb our Effect Sensors so we can't feel real Peace and real Energy anymore. These pseudo forms of Peace and Energy disconnect us and blind us to our real Desires. The most likely reason we start depending on them in the first place is because we feel so much sorrow about not obtaining our Desires, not knowing how to obtain them, and not believing it's possible to obtain them.

Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy
There're some good messages in this song. Sometimes we get all worked up over adversity and conflict and listening to this song reminds us to take a chill pill. But even though this song might be fun to listen to, its counsel is useless without figuring out what we need to do and receive to be happy. No one can just be happy upon command. Otherwise we would all be happy. We actually have to figure out how to obtain happiness. I'm not saying it's all works. I'm saying it is a balance between grace and works and we need to use our agency to figure that balance out. But the real chill pill that works before we can actually figure everything out is this:
"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalms 46:10
